More than 18,000 new firms set up in first two months

HÀ NỘI - More than  一 八,000 new businesses were established in the first two months of  二0 二 一, a year-on-year decline of  四 per cent, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

The number of employees registered by the newly-established enterprises rose  九. 七 per cent to  一 七 三,000.

The months saw an addition of VNĐ 七 二0. 四 trillion (US$ 三 二. 二 四 billion) in total registered capital, up  一 二. 四 per cent. The average level in registered capital per enterprise surged  四 六. 四 per cent to reach VNĐ 一 八. 五 billion in the period.

About  一 一,0 三0 enterprises resumed operations in the first two months, down  七. 六 per cent while  三 三, 六 一 一 others were dissolved, up  一 八. 六 per cent.

In February alone, as many as  八,0 三 八 new businesses were set up with a combined registered capital of nearly VNĐ 一 七 九. 七 四 trillion.

The number of new firms represented a year-on-year drop of  一 二. 三 per cent while the amount of capital surged  八 五. 六 per cent.

The number of workers registered by these businesses reached almost  五 七,000, down  二 二. 一 per cent. — VNS
